This scene of two men fishing at Tunnels Beach with their “throw net” reminds us of the old Hawaiian way of fishing.  Often, entire villages helped pull in the giant “hukilau” net, and the catch was shared by all.  Today, many locals still use this method with very good results.

Tunnels Beach provides the perfect backdrop with its emerald mountains and the famous peak of “Bali Hai”.  This beach is also a snorkler’s paradise.  Coral reef can be seen as soon as you swim away from the shore, which means beautiful, colorful fish are just waiting to surround you!  The more experienced divers can swim farther out to discover exotic tunnels and arches.
