Women Artists of Kauai Second Annual Summer Fine Art Festival at the National Tropical Botanical Gardens in Poipu, Kauai. 
Saturday, June 19, 2010 from 9:30am-3:30pm.  Join us under the tents at the beautiful gardens in Poipu, Kauai (across from Spouting Horn) for a free, fun and exciting family event.  Visit with local artists Helen Turner, Anna Skaradzinska, Lilian de Mello, Dava Shepherd, Patrice Pendarvis, Elizabeth Ferris, Susan Strom, and Marionette. Fine Art will be for sale in a variety of mediums such as paintings, photography, mixed media, and more with a portion of the proceeds going directly to the gardens.  Live entertainment will be provided by Anela Saxon, Jeff Iglesia, and Dr. Matthew Miller. Happy Snacks will be offering their delicious Thai food, smoothies, and other snacks.  Shave ice will also be available.

New Class - Beginning Sketchbook Jounaling with Marionette  at the National Tropical Botanical Gardens Southshore Visitor Center on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  This class will teach you how to start your own sketchbook journal using the beautiful surroundings of the botanical gardens for inspiration.  I will teach you how to use pencil, pen & ink, watercolors, watercolor pencils, and colored pencils to create field sketches of Kauai's flora and fauna.  I will also suggest what information to include to make your journal unique, full of your own observations, and a lasting memory of your time on Kauai.

What you should bring: A light weight folding chair, a hat, sunglasses, suntan lotion, water, a sack lunch. 
Optional to bring (but recommended): Insect repellent, a digital camera, a raincoat. 
The gardens do have bottled water for sale and if you need a folding chair, please let me know in advance so I can provide one.

Cost is $75 per person and includes your own high quality sketchbook journal to take home.  Prepayment is required to guarantee your spot in the class.  Class size is limited to 5 people.  A portion of the proceeds will benefit the gardens.  In case of bad weather the class will be canceled and all students will be given a full refund. 


Bring Marionette's Art Classes to YOU! - Marionette will personally bring any of her art classes and all art supplies to your location (anywhere on the island of Kauai).  You provide the space to paint (tables and chairs, etc...).  A minimum of three students, please.  Maximum number of students is eight.  Call Marionette at 808-631-9173 for more info or to set up your ART PARTY!

Watercolors at the Waimea Plantation Cottages - First and third Tuesdays   from 9am-12pm  Choose to paint Hawaiian landscapes, tropical flowers, or a lovely plantation cottage. No drawing experience necessary.   This class will take place on the lovely lanai of the Waimea Plantation Cottages.  Students please meet at the cottages and not at my studio.  Fee $40.     Waimea Platation Cottages Website 


Watercolors at the Mokihana (in Kapaa located next to the Bull Shed Restaurant) - Second and Forth Tuesdays from 10 am-1pm.  Choose to paint Hawaiian landscapes, tropical flowers, or a lovely plantation cottage. Watercolors at Lawai Beach Resort  (in Poipu across the street from the Beach House Restaurant) - Every Wednesday  from 1-4pm.  Choose to paint Hawaiian landscapes, tropical flowers, or a lovely plantation cottage. No drawing experience necessary. This class will take place at the beautiful Lawai Beach Resort. Students please meet at the activity desk at the resort and not at my studio.
