This painting is the second in a series about Kauai Coffee.  I painted this piece to honor all of the hardworking local people of Kauai who put in so many hours during the coffee harvest season.  Here we see the colorful cherry truck which brings approximately 25,000 lbs. of cherries from the field to the factory for processing.  The coffee cherry is the fruit of the coffee plant, and the bean is the seed inside the cherry.  The truck makes about ten to twenty trips a day.  That is a lot of coffee!  And, don’t forget to wave to the friendly truck driver as he passes by the Kauai Coffee Visitor Center .
